Halotherapy

The Natural Power of Halotherapy for Pets

Just like people, our pets breathe the same air we do — filled with allergens, pollutants, and irritants that can trigger inflammation, coughing, and skin sensitivities. Halotherapy, also known as dry salt therapy, offers a natural and non-invasive way to support your pet’s respiratory and skin health.

At PAWS, halotherapy uses finely ground pharmaceutical-grade salt dispersed into the air of a controlled environment, where both pets and their owners can relax and breathe deeply. This gentle therapy has been shown to improve breathing, reduce allergy symptoms, and promote calm — naturally.

What is Halotherapy?

Halotherapy originated in Eastern Europe when doctors observed that miners working in natural salt caves experienced fewer respiratory issues and healthier skin. Today, advanced halogenerators replicate that same microclimate by dispersing microscopic salt particles into the air. As pets inhale the salt-enriched air, the fine particles help reduce inflammation, clear mucus, and eliminate allergens and bacteria from the respiratory system. When the salt settles on fur and skin, it can also soothe irritation, relieve itching, and promote healing of common skin conditions.

Key Benefits of Halotherapy for Pets

Supports Respiratory Ideal Health for pets with asthma, bronchitis, kennel cough, or seasonal allergies. Inhaled salt particles open airways, reduce congestion, and make breathing easier — without medication.•

Improves Skin and Coat Health

Salt’s natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties calm hot spots, dermatitis, and itching while promoting a cleaner, shinier coat.

Reduces Inflammation and Infection

The antimicrobial nature of dry salt helps neutralize harmful bacteria and yeasts on the skin and within the respiratory tract.

Calms Anxiety and Promotes Relaxation

The negative ions released in the salt environment can help stabilize mood, reduce stress, and create a soothing sense of wellbeing for both pets and people.•

Safe and Non-Invasive

Halotherapy is gentle and drug-free, making it ideal for long-term wellness or as a complement to veterinary treatments.

Supported by Veterinary Insights

Veterinarians and wellness researchers increasingly recognize halotherapy’s potential to enhance animal health: “Halotherapy offers non-invasive respiratory and skin health benefits for pets … animals with skin allergies can find relief through regular treatments.” — Salt Chamber Inc., Halotherapy in Vet Practices“

"Salt therapy can help treat many chronic respiratory and skin conditions in animals — reducing reliance on antibiotics and anti-fungal medications.” — Dr. Dysert, DVM, Halotherapy Solutions

A Shared Wellness Experience

Our halotherapy sessions are designed for both pets and people to relax together in a peaceful, temperature-controlled space filled with micronized Himalayan salt. Soft lighting and calming sounds create a tranquil atmosphere while the salt air works its quiet magic. Many pets visibly relax — even fall asleep — as they breathe more easily and release tension.

Breathe Easy — Together

At PAWS, we believe that healing happens best when shared. Our halotherapy sessions invite you and your pet to breathe deeply, unwind, and reconnect — naturally.
