Far Infrared Therapy

Deep, Gentle Warmth for Relaxation, Circulation, and Healing

At Halo Pet Spa, we use Far Infrared (FIR) therapy to bring gentle, restorative warmth to both pets and their people.

This safe, non-invasive technology uses specific wavelengths of light to penetrate deep beneath the skin — relaxing muscles, easing stiffness, and stimulating the body’s natural healing processes.

FIR therapy isn’t just “heat.” It’s energy — light energy — absorbed by the body to improve circulation, promote oxygen flow, and support detoxification at the cellular level.

What is FIR?

Far Infrared (FIR) is part of the invisible spectrum of sunlight that we experience as soothing warmth. Unlike traditional heat, which warms the air around us, FIR penetrates up to 4 centimeters below the skin — reaching muscles, joints, and even internal tissues.

When the body absorbs these gentle wavelengths, it converts the light into resonant energy — stimulating blood flow, increasing oxygen delivery, and enhancing cellular metabolism. This process helps loosen tight muscles, reduce inflammation, and activate the body’s natural detox pathways through improved circulation and sweating (for people) or gentle microcirculation (for pets).

How FIR Therapy Helps Pets

FIR therapy is a favorite among veterinarians and holistic wellness professionals for its broad range of benefits:

🐾  Relieves Pain and Stiffness
The deep heat penetrates joints and muscles, helping to reduce pain and stiffness associated with arthritis, hip dysplasia, or old injuries.

🐾  Improves Circulation and Tissue Oxygenation
Enhanced blood flow delivers nutrients and oxygen to cells while flushing out metabolic waste, supporting faster recovery and cellular renewal.

🐾  Reduces Inflammation
The light energy helps calm inflammatory responses in the body — easing joint swelling, soreness, and discomfort.

🐾  Promotes Relaxation and Stress Relief
The warmth from FIR light triggers a soothing, parasympathetic response, lowering heart rate and helping pets feel safe and calm.

🐾  Supports Detoxification and Immune Function

By improving lymphatic flow and stimulating mild sweating (in humans) or microvascular dilation (in animals), FIR helps eliminate toxins and strengthen immune balance.

Supported by Research

Clinical studies show that far infrared therapy can improve circulation, enhance recovery after injury, and reduce pain in both humans and animals.

A 2019 review in Frontiers in Physiology confirmed that FIR wavelengths can stimulate blood vessel dilation, improve mitochondrial function, and reduce oxidative stress — all essential for healing and longevity.

Veterinary clinics and rehabilitation centers now use FIR mats and wraps as part of integrated pain management and recovery programs for pets of all ages.

A Perfect Complement

At Halo Pet Spa, FIR therapy is often combined with PEMF, Red Light, and Halotherapy for a whole-body experience that addresses multiple levels of healing — physical, energetic, and emotional.

When used together, these therapies create a synergistic effect: improving circulation, boosting oxygenation, reducing inflammation, and promoting deep relaxation.

🐾 The PAWS Experience

During an FIR session, your pet will rest comfortably on a softly heated mat embedded with natural gemstones that gently emit far-infrared light.

The warmth is soothing and therapeutic — most pets simply close their eyes, relax, and drift off to sleep.

FIR therapy is completely non-invasive, safe for all ages, and ideal for routine wellness or recovery support.
